When Ihaan and the Mystery Gang awaken the notorious Thunderbird, they embark on a new journey that tests everything they thought they knew about mysteries and the Ghost of Ontario.

After surviving their first year of college, the Mystery Gang is excited to return to Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater Provincial Park to spend a week with their friend Ihaan, with gifts from the modern world, as they try to reintroduce him to society--and teach him the fun of solving mysteries.

However, that night, Ihaan dreams of the mysterious Thunderbird, a Spirit said to encompass good and evil, who only appears when someone needs help. The next day, he and the gang are dragged into a new mystery when the Spirit Animals begin disappearing, and strange lightning storms occur in the provincial park, symbolizing the return of the Thunderbird.

As Ihaan and the gang fight to calm the Thunderbird and save the Spirit Animals, Ihaan must learn where he truly belongs, while the Mystery Gang learns the harsh truth of the word "erasure". By then, though, will it be too late for all of them?

Freddie, Daphne, Velma, and Shaggy are leaving soon for college, which causes them to fear that their mystery-solving days are over. As the gang leader, Fred takes matters into his own hands and tracks down one last mystery for them to solve--the legend of the Ghost of Ontario in the Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater Provincial Park.

While canoeing on Lake Anima Nipissing to search for clues, the gang runs into an amnesic hermit who claims he's only ten winters old and has never heard of the Ghost of Ontario; yet, whenever he's around, strange things happen, such as unexpected storms and angry spirits. It looks like he may be the gang's biggest mystery yet, but is this mysterious hermit a masked villain or something more? And what is this "Lucilla" that everyone in the provincial park keeps discussing?

It's up to the gang, Scooby, and one brave young man to solve this mystery--for all of Ontario.

What is the secret of the Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater Provincial Park?

Ten years ago, a little boy went missing in the Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater Provincial Park. Legend has it that he died and became the Ghost of Ontario. When fifteen-year-old Kylie learns of it, she vows to uncover the mystery, but things become extra interesting when she and her family meet an amnesic hermit, Ihaan, in the park.

Ihaan has no memories of his past. All he remembers is his life with Canada's wild animals. However, it changes when he meets Kylie. Suddenly, he is desperate to find his lost memories, so he joins Kylie and her family on their canoe trip, much to Kylie's mother's displeasure.

As the trip progresses, Kylie and her family learn new secrets about Ihaan and try to help him get home. Ihaan, though, is eager to stay in the provincial park after living alone there for a long time. When mysterious happenings begin, such as "Lucilla" and voices in the forest, Kylie begins to wonder... Is Ihaan the Ghost of Ontario himself?
