I tried to pull you in, but you beat me to it.

Thought I could handle the blow, but it was too hard a hit.

You took over everything and I just let you,

Because I hoped that what I was feeling, you were feeling too.

You took it all and left me high and dry.

Disappeared suddenly without a single reason why.

Now I sit and write love letters to the ghost you left behind,

But you wouldn't know because out of sight, out of mind.

So I sign them all with the letters XO,

Hoping one day maybe you'll know.
