Aside from its convenient connection to psionics, the Astral Plane has some understood properties that allow interaction from the physical world to the astral world. What is known are the consequences that psionic energy waves set for the Astral World. Since these waves travel through the plane, it can be intercepted (while unaffected) by conscious beings of the Astral World as well. Whether or not reverse interception is possible has yet to be determined.
